Magenta Health Family Physicians

The physicians who practice at Magenta Health are all family doctors who focus on providing comprehensive primary care to a diverse population of individuals and families. They are passionate about preventative medicine and empowering patients to take an active role in their health and well-being.

In deciding to build their practice at Magenta Health, each has committed to accepting and following patients in the long-term, and looks forward to having an opportunity to provide care for those in their community.

All Magenta Health family physicians are fully qualified and trained to provide primary care to men, women (including expectant mothers), seniors, children, and infants. Where appropriate, referrals are made to outside physicians who have specialized in certain medical issues or procedures.

Dr. Alessandra pizzolato, MD, CCFP, Family Medicine

Alessandra attended the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (Dublin) where she received her medical degree with honours. She completed her three year Family Medicine residency in the United States at Altru Health System. Alessandra received an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering with honours, from the University of Waterloo. She returned home to Toronto in 2020 to practice full scope Family Medicine.

DR. Jason Kwan, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Jason completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of Leeds in England. He remained in West Yorkshire to complete his post-graduate training in family medicine, and worked in the UK as a General Practitioner for nearly two years before returning to his hometown of Toronto.

DR. Katherine Jackson, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Katherine completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology at Queen's University. She then earned her medical degree at McMaster University, and subsequently completed her Family Medicine residency at Women's College Hospital in Toronto. Katherine enjoys providing primary care to patients across the lifespan.

Dr. Mariella Ferreyra G., MD, MSc, CCFP, Family Medicine

Mariella completed her undergraduate medical degree in Peru, where she is originally from. She then went on to complete a Masters in Epidemiology and Community Medicine at the University of Ottawa, where she also completed her residency training in Family Medicine.

DR. Melissa Goldberg, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Melissa completed her undergraduate degree in science at the University of Western Ontario. She then went on to earn her medical degree at the University of Toronto. She continued her residency training in Family Medicine at the University of Toronto where she served as chief resident at Women’s College Hospital. Melissa enjoys caring for patients of all ages and backgrounds. She also has a special interest in women’s health and is trained in the application of cosmetic neuromodulators (ie. Botox).

DR. Moosa Jamal, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Moosa obtained his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at York University. He then went on to complete his medical school at McMaster University and residency in Family Medicine at Women's College Hospital in Toronto. In addition to comprehensive family medicine for patients of all ages, Moosa has a special interest in evidence-based preventative care.

DR. Parastoo Azizi namini, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Dr. Parastoo Azizi completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees at University of Toronto, and subsequently earned her medical degree at University of Kentucky. She completed her post-graduate training in Family Medicine at University of Toronto. Afterwards, she pursued additional training in Palliative Medicine at University of British Columbia.

DR. Ruby Rai, MD, MSc, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Ruby has an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and a masters of science in Psychology from McMaster University. She earned her medical degree at Western University and completed her Family Medicine residency at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.

DR. safiyyah mahomed, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Safiyyah studied health sciences, with a specialization in Global Health at McMaster University, and subsequently earned her medical degree at the University of Toronto. She completed her post-graduate training in family medicine at Western University.

DR. TIMOTHY BOWES, MD, PhD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Timothy studied at McMaster University where he completed a PhD in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences. He subsequently completed a post-doctoral fellowship in cell biology at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto. Timothy obtained his medical degree at the University of Toronto and completed his residency at the Markham-Stouffville Hospital family medicine program. He is passionate about preventative medicine, particularly in regards to obesity.

DR. Yun (Jennifer) Peng, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Jennifer completed her undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences at Western University. She then went to earn her medical degree at the University of Toronto, followed by her family medicine residency at Mount Sinai Hospital. She enjoys practising comprehensive family medicine, with an emphasis on preventative medicine and student health. Dr. Peng is also passionate about teaching medical trainees and holds an adjunct lecturer appointment at the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine.

Dr. Aaron wong, MD, CCFP, Family Medicine

Aaron earned his medical degree at the University of Calgary. His post-graduate training in family medicine was at the University of Ottawa. Aaron enjoys looking after patients of all ages

Dr. Adam Cadotte, MD, CCFP, Family Medicine

Adam completed his Bachelor’s Degrees in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration at Western University and received his medical degree from the University of Toronto. He completed his Family Medicine residency at Toronto Western Hospital. In addition to comprehensive family medicine for patients of all ages, he has a special interest in health systems research and utilizing data from the electronic medical record to improve patient care.

Dr. Alyssa Cantarutti, MD, CCFP, Family Medicine

Alyssa holds an undergraduate degree in biochemistry and biomedical sciences from McMaster University. She went on to complete her medical degree at McMaster and subsequently her postgraduate training at the University of British Columbia. She also completed a fellowship in Sport and Exercise Medicine at UBC. Alyssa enjoys caring for patients of all ages and also provides teaching for medical students and residents.

Dr. ANNE Mullen Grey, MD, CCFP, Family Medicine

Anne completed her Bachelor of Science degree at McMaster University, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Toronto. She subsequently earned her medical degree at the University of Toronto and completed her post-graduate training in family medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital.

Dr. Brent crawford, MD, CCFP, Family Medicine

Brent achieved both his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees at McMaster University, exploring the impact of environmental toxins on reproductive health. He earned his medical degree at the University of Toronto and completed his post-graduate training in family medicine at St. Michael's Hospital downtown, focusing on inner city and LGBTQ+ health. Afterwards, he completed an additional fellowship in low-risk obstetrics at North York General Hospital.

DR. KAITLIN PATTRICK, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Kaitlin studied at McMaster University, initially completing a Bachelor of Sciences and then a Master of Business Administration. She spent 7 years working in healthcare management before deciding to pursue a career in medicine. She then returned to McMaster to study medicine, followed by her family medicine residency training at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Kaitlin enjoys providing comprehensive care to patients of all ages.

Dr. Kamil Prasad, MD, CCFP, Family Medicine

Kamil received a bachelor’s degree with honors in biology from the University of Toronto at Mississauga in Ontario, Canada. He earned his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica. Dr. Prasad completed his residency in family medicine at JFK Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey, where he also served as chief resident. He has special interests in preventative medicine and care for geriatric patients.

DR. Lauren Mitsuki, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Lauren studied journalism at Carleton University, and subsequently earned her medical degree at McMaster University. She completed her post-graduate training in family medicine at the Toronto East General Hospital.

DR. MATTHEW CRUICKSHANK, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Matthew studied computer engineering at Queen's University, and subsequently earned his medical degree at the University of Western Ontario. His post-graduate training in family medicine was at the Toronto East General Hospital. 

DR. Meera nathwani, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Meera completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences at McMaster University and received her medical degree from the University of Ottawa. She completed her Family Medicine residency at St Michael’s Hospital followed by additional fellowship training in Low-Risk Obstetrics at Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto. In addition to comprehensive family medicine for patients of all ages, she has a special interest in prenatal care, family practice obstetrics and sexual health. She provides prenatal care up to 28-30 weeks at Magenta Health.

Dr. Natasha Chadha, MD, CCFP, Family Medicine

Natasha earned her medical degree at Boston University in Massachusetts. She completed her residency training in family medicine with The University of Manitoba, in the small rural town of Dauphin. She is thrilled to be moving to her birth city of Toronto to start her own family practice with Magenta Health.  Natasha enjoys looking after patients of all ages.

DR. nicholas ng fuk Chong, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Nicholas studied Microbiology & Immunology at McGill University, and subsequently earned his medical degree at the Université de Montréal. He completed his post-graduate training in family medicine at Queen's University. Nicholas practices medicine in both English and French.

DR. Aarti Kapoor, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Aarti studied Life Sciences and Psychology at Queen’s University, and subsequently earned her medical degree at the University of Ottawa. She completed her post-graduate training in family medicine at the Toronto Western Hospital. In addition to providing primary care at Magenta Health to a broad cross-section of patients, Dr. Kapoor has a special interest in Adolescent Health and is dedicated to providing a positive space for youth and young adults of all sexual orientations. She is a Lecturer with the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto and also Courtesy Staff at the Toronto Western Hospital.

DR. caileigh pilmer, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Caileigh studied Arts and Sciences at McGill University, and subsequently earned her medical degree at the University of Western Ontario. She completed her post-graduate training in family medicine at the Markham Stouffville site of the University of Toronto. She then completed fellowship training in Women's Health and Breast Diseases through the University of Toronto. In addition to providing primary care at Magenta Health to a broad cross-section of patients, Caileigh also works as a GP-Oncologist in the Breast Centre at Princess Margaret Hospital, teaches medical students at the University of Toronto, and has hospital privileges at UHN and Women’s College Hospital. 

Dr. Catherine Morgan, MD, CCFP, Family Medicine

Catherine completed her undergraduate studies in Political Science and Psychology at the University of Toronto before moving to Halifax for her Master’s in Community Health and Epidemiology. She completed medical school in Halifax through Dalhousie University and Family Medicine residency in Montreal through McGill. DR. Darakhshan Ansari, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Darakhshan is a born and bred Torontonian. She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Cultural Anthropology at McMaster University. She earned her medical degree at the University of Limerick, Ireland. She then completed her four year Family Medicine training with the North East GP Training Scheme and was awarded Membership of the Irish College of General Practitioners in 2018. She is currently undertaking a Masters in Global Public Health with Imperial College, London.

DR. Dennison Lai, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Dennison studied Science & Kinesiology at McMaster University and subsequently earned his Medical Degree at the University of Toronto. He completed his residency training program in Family Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital. He enjoys providing care to patients of all ages and backgrounds with the aim of creating a safe, positive, and open environment for primary healthcare. He has a special interest in LGBTQ+ health and experience working with inner city populations. He also has training in the application of Botox, dermal fillers, and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections for both medical and cosmetic purposes.

DR. eugenie Phan, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Eugenie studied microbiology at the University of Toronto, and subsequently earned her medical degree at the University at Toronto. She completed her post-graduate training in family medicine at St. Joseph's Health Centre in Toronto. In addition to providing primary care at Magenta Health to a broad cross-section of patients, Eugenie is also an Associate Physician at House Calls, which is a primary health care program for home-bound seniors.

DR. Eva Bain, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Eva completed her undergraduate degree in life sciences at Queen's University. She then went on to complete both her medical degree and family medicine training at the University of Toronto. Alongside general family medicine she has a special interest in Palliative Care which she practices at Michael Garron Hospital. She is appointed as an Adjunt Lecturer at the University of Toronto.

DR. heba shamsi, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Heba studied global health and psychology at the University of Toronto and subsequently earned her medical degree at McMaster University. She completed her residency training at Michael Garron Hospital and went on to pursue additional training in Low-Risk Obstetrics. She enjoys all aspects of family medicine, and has special interests in prenatal/obstetrical care and the social determinants of health.

DR. MARCO LO, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Marco studied life sciences at Queen's University, and subsequently earned his medical degree at Albany Medical College, in upstate New York. He completed his post-graduate training in family medicine at the Toronto Western Hospital.  

Dr. Natasha Gulavita, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Natasha studied Life Sciences at Queen’s University, and subsequently earned her medical degree at the University of Manitoba. She completed her post-graduate training in family medicine at the Toronto East General Hospital.

DR. PRISCILLA CHE, MD, CCFP, Family Medicine

Priscilla studied biomedical computing at Queen's University, and subsequently earned her medical degree at the University of Toronto. She completed her post-graduate training in family medicine at the Toronto Western Hospital.

DR. Sabrina Chung, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Sabrina completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Western Ontario where she later earned her medical degree. She completed her post-graduate training in family medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto.

DR. Sana mehrani, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Sana studied life sciences at Queen's University and earned her medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan.  She completed her post-graduate training in family medicine at the University of British Columbia.  Sana enjoys providing care to patients of all ages, and is excited to grow her practice. 

DR. Sarah Park, MD, FAMILY MEDICINE

Sarah studied biology at Mount Allison University and subsequently earned her medical degree at the University of Toronto. She also completed her postgraduate training in urban and rural family medicine through the University of Toronto. Sarah enjoys providing care to patients of all ages and backgrounds, and has a focus in improving Indigenous health and equity in her role as Indigenous Health Education Lead at the University of Toronto Department of Family and Community Medicine.

DR. SHAYLAN GOVIND, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Dr. Govind, was born and raised in Scarborough, Ontario. After completing his undergraduate degree in software engineering at the University of Waterloo, he went on to pursue his passion for medicine by attending medical school at Western University in London, Ontario.

He completed four years of training in general surgery at McMaster University before making a switch to Family Medicine. He is dedicated to providing patient centered primary care and has a special interest in addictions and mental health. With his combined expertise in family medicine, surgery and engineering, Dr. Govind brings a unique perspective and approach to patient care.

DR. stephen pomedli, MD, MSc, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Steve studied neuroscience at the University of Toronto, and subsequently earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School, and a Master's in International Health Policy and Economics. He completed his post-graduate training in family medicine at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto.

DR. Tim Ramharry, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Tim completed his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo before going on to earn his medical degree at the Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his family medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in the United States before returning to Toronto.

DR. Winnie siao, MD, CCFP, FAMILY MEDICINE

Winnie studied life sciences at Queen's University, and subsequently earned her medical degree at the University of Calgary. She completed her post-graduate training in family medicine at the University of Alberta.
