Why it is important for Receiving sites to Update Ocean eReferral status
The Ocean eReferral system was designed to facilitate easier, faster and more timely referral submission and processing.
This better referral facilitation can only be achieved if all parties, both sending sites (referring physicians) and receiving sites (specialist office/testing facilities), fully commit to using Ocean as intended.
When Ocean eReferrals are properly updated by the receiving site, the following happens:
Reduction in potential patient care issues.
Reduction in physician mental load.
Reduction in administrative burden for BOTH receiving and sending sites.
Increase patient appointment confirmation and attendance for receiving sites.
Reduction of fax costs for BOTH receiving and sending sites.
