a community to grow in

curbside your peers

With intentional planning, we’ve designed open, co-working spaces to allow people to work in physical proximity. This makes it easier to ask your colleague a quick question. A variety of public and private virtual chat rooms are used to facilitate easy collaboration across clinics and remotely.

Looking for a second opinion about how to handle a particular medical issue? Interested in whether anyone has trained with a particular specialist? Your colleagues are here for you.

a network beyond the clinic

We helped to establish the non-profit East Toronto Family Practice Network (EasT-FPN). Our vision is to be the voice of family practice in East Toronto by engaging our community and supporting our patients.

The network has become an anchor partner at our local Ontario Health Team, co-designing better health delivery system for patients and providers, with primary care at its core.

grow and develop

As an organization, we believe in effective feedback as fuel for improvement, both as a group and as individuals. We facilitate opportunities for physicians to keep up their self-development by encouraging participation in peer-led journal clubs and PBSG programs.

We’re also currently offering a grant-funded program through Rainbow Health Ontario, led by our in-house Equity and Diversity Committee. This is one example of how we’ve carved out a space for physicians and staff to work together to shape a more inclusive space at Magenta Health.

If you’re interested in teaching the next generation of family doctors, there are opportunities to teach medical students and residents through the Department of Family and Community Medicine of the University of Toronto.
